Having Problems Contacting Pennsylvania Unemployment Compensation Service Centers?

Are you having problems reaching the unemployment offices to discuss your case? The Bureau of Unemployment Compensation has released guidance on how to contact the UC service centers. Beginning Monday, October 21, 2013, the department asks that UC claimants contact the UC service centers on either Monday or Tuesday depending on the last digit of their Social Security number. L&I data suggest that UC service center call volume is significantly higher on Mondays than the rest of the week. If your SSN ends in an odd number — 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 — you are asked to call for assistance on Monday. If your SSN ends in an even number — 0, 2, 4, 6, 8 — you are asked to call on Tuesday. The UC service centers will continue to accept calls from claimants with any SSN on Wednesday-Friday. Claimants are encouraged to follow the new system, but will still receive service if they contact the UC service centers on a day that is not his or her assigned day. Claimants may also visit their local Career Link Office where a dedicated phone line may be available to reach a Service Center Representative without a significant wait.
